Edward Burtynsky
Edward’s goal for his work is to accomplish through large print photography, to show the way we use the land. He’s been photographing large industrial landscapes. His goal is to show the rate at which we are using these resources. His work is shown in chapters starting with restacting and refining oil, then how we use it, such as in motor vehicles. The last chapter shows the end of oil where all of the different parts of vehicles end up when we are done with them. Edward’s work is unique because it follows an idea from begging to end, it give’s a unique visual outlook on a problem our world is facing. Which is the mass use of oil. I respect Edwards work because he is approaching a huge problem, and giving the world a different outlook to try and stop it.
